It's incredibly important to start with a HOT OVEN set to HIGH BROIL.
Preheating the oven for at least 10 minutes will allow the flavors to combine together once the crabcakes make it into the oven. The hotter, the better Hon!
Once you have lined your cooking tray with non-stick foil, simply remove the lid from the crabcake container and save it for the next step. Flip the cup upside down onto the cooking tray. The cup will help the crabcakes keep shape as the mix falls.
Once the crabcake mix has settled onto the cooking tray, wait 15-30 seconds then gently lift the cup and discard. Use the lid to press the crabcake mix down until it is approximately of equal diameter to the lid. This ensures the crabcakes will be of appropriate thickness for broiling.
Once the crabcakes have all been shaped, place the cooking tray on the oven's second lowest rack position and let the oven do its best work. Within six minutes you will begin to smell the gorgeous flavors blending together. By nine minutes, the outside should be bubbling with a golden to dark brown color. You will not need to flip the crabcakes as the high cooking temperature will heat the cooking tray and ensure it cooks from the bottom to the top.
An oven's speed and strength vary just as much as one's personal preference for a darker or lighter crabcake, so check for an internal temperature of 140-160 degrees to be sure.
We recommend serving immediately and topping with fresh chopped parsley and a squeeze of lemon. A little Old Bay never hurt no one either, Hon. We also offer our complimentary signature sauces: fresh made tartar sauce, cocktail sauce and siracha remoulade.
Your crabcakes are made fresh on the day of delivery/pick up.
You have 3 days to cook the crabcakes, but sometimes, plans change. Just make sure you freeze the crabcakes 3 days after accepting delivery, if you want or need to freeze. The crabcakes will last eight to twelve weeks in the freezer. When cooking from frozen, make sure to thaw the crabcakes under refrigeration overnight, then simply follow the broiling instructions above.
*While freshmade sauces cannot be frozen, they do last ten days from the day of delivery.*
